Statistics Canada Reporting

 A custom composite report and advanced report was developed to provide the necessary base data for the report. There was absolutely zero flexibility in the format of the final report so the workday reports were then exported to a folder and a power query was used to bring all reports together and transform the data to attain the format desired before transmission to Statistics Canada. Especially since this solution was executed quarterly, a detailed procedure document with screen shots was prepared and delivered as part of the solution delivery. Reviewing the document with the client was a good final step to ensure they understood the solution and brought to light any shortcomings of the procedure document, which were immediately corrected.

 The Recruiting Team Lead that is responsible for transmitting the reports to Statistics Canada now has a process that is drastically simplified. Instead of either the leader or the reporting team spending ~40 hours annually to transform and prepare the data, it takes ~80 minutes annually, a 30X reduction in administration time.  In addition, if the client ever forgets how to generate the reports, there is a well written procedure document complete with screen shots and steps that they had input into creating.
